Early Career and Development
Moussa Camara began his career with FC Kolombada in the lower leagues before joining Milo FC, a second-division club. Camara's talent was recognized early by national team selectors, and he has represented Guinea at every youth level:
He was selected for the U17 team by coach Hamidou Camara and took part in the 2015 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations and the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
In 2017, he represented Guinea at both the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations and the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
With the U23 team, he played in all six qualification matches for the 2019 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations. He notably saved a crucial penalty in the 83rd minute against Côte d'Ivoire in Abidjan to secure a 1-0 win.
Camara earned his first senior cap for Guinea on July 15, 2017, in a 3-1 victory over Guinea-Bissau during the 2018 African Nations Championship qualifiers. Although he was named in the preliminary squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), he did not make the final team.
His international career gained new momentum during the qualifiers for the 2021 AFCON, where he featured in Group A matches against Mali and Namibia before the tournament was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Camara has cited Naby Keïta as a teammate who has had a significant impact on his professional growth.
